LG Electronics and car manufacturer Volkswagen have unveiled a 'New Beetle'-inspired digital media player at the Seoul Motor Show this week.

The player has a small VW badge on its front panel and New Beetle logo on its back.

Judy Pae, a spokeswoman for LG in South Korea, told IDG News Service that the player will be produced in three of the same colours as the car: Salsa Red, Shadow Blue and Sunflower Yellow.

The media player has an aluminium body and a 2.4-inch colour LCD screen. It can play MPEG-4, Windows Media Video 9, MP3, Windows Media Audio and Ogg-Vorbis format files.

2GB and 4GB versions will be available, with two flash games embedded. The battery will supply about 20 hours of music playback and three hours of video viewing, LG said.

Plans for the player’s commercial launch have yet to be decided, Pae said.
