China Light Vehicle Retail Sales - April 2007

According to reports released by China Passenger Car Association, due to strong demands before May Day holidays, China's passenger vehicle sector continued to see its robust development. Six of the top ten automakers sales maintained stable growth in the fourth month. DFL took the sector by surprise with 8,000 more units sold y-o-y, led by Teana which reached a sale of 5,305 units.

The reports also unveiled that sales of Chinese-made sedans totaled 387,743 units in the fourth month, up 14.1% y-o-y; MPV sales increased by 38.4% to19,909 units while SUV sales surged by 53.4% to 28,556 units. Passenger vehicle sales were 436,208 units, up 4.06% y-o-y; Accumulated sales of Chinese-made sedan in the first four months were 147,6883, up 22.7% y-o-y, of which accumulated sales of MPV and SUV were 71,938 and 97,219, up 37.7% and 17.7% respectively.

The top ten best sellers in April were SGM, SVW, FAW-VW, Chery Auto, DFL, Guangzhou Honda, Changan Ford, FAW, DPCA and Tianjin FAW Xiali Auto.
