Chery Jaguar Land Rover to have a New Plant Completed by the End of the Year

Chery Jaguar Land Rover now has a plant producing Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Jaguar XFL in Changshu city. The plant has an annual production capacity of 130 thousand units. According to Wu Wei, manufacturing engineering director of Chery Jaguar Land Rover manufacturing department, that the automaker’s second period project will be completed by the end of this year, which is expected to produce SUVs at first. Jaguar has listed its first SUV model F-PACE last year, which was guessed to be put into production in the new plant.

Information announced by the National Development and Reform Commission of Changshu city showed that, its second period project has an investment of 6 billion RMB, all of which were used to produce Jaguar models that including 30 thousand Jaguar SUVs and 40 thousand Jaguar sedan and a designed annual output of 70 thousand units. After ths.e new plant is put into operation, the annual output of Jaguar Land Rover in China will surged to 200 thousand units from 130 thousand units now.

Jaguar Land Rover has planned to list a domestic model every year. It has already listed its first SUV F-PACE. After it was produced in the new plant, Jaguar Land Rover will have an overall of four domestic models, including Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Jaguar XFL and F-PACE.
