SGMW Passenger Vehicle Project Settled in Qingdao, Capacity Increases by 200,000 Units

Shanghai, March 27th, Gasgoo - Huangdao development and reform bureau announced on its website the day before that ten key industry projects were settled in the West Coast District, including three automobile industrial projects, saying, Saint Gobain auto glass project, project and an American auto parts project.

Media then learns that SGMW will start the construction of a new production line in the west coast of Qingdao, with a planning annual production capacity of 200,000 units. This means that after the completion of the new plant in Qingdao, annual total production capacity of SAIC GM can reach 3,310,000 units.

At present, there are two brands under SGMW, Wuling Motors and Baojun Motors. They have a total of four vehicle factories, namely Chongqing plant, Baojun plant, Qingdao plant and Liuzhou plant, with the corresponding production capacity of 800,000 units, 1,000,000 units, 510,000 units, and 800,000 units, totaling 3,110,000 units.

Among them, Qingdao branch of SGMW is the manufacturing and production base of SGMW in the north, covering an area of 840,000 square meters, with the annual production capacity of 510,000 units. When SGMW complete the production line with an annual output of 200,000 units, then Qingdao branch of the plant will have an annual production capacity of 710,000 units. Finally, SGMW, with the capacity of 3,310,000 units, can fully meet the demand of domestic market as well as overseas market.
