Baidu Map Launches New Version to Support Intelligent Cars

Shanghai, April 26, Gasgoo - On April 25th, Baidu Map officially launched V9.8.0 map. It is said to be the first new version since the artificial intelligence era.

The new map is optimized and upgraded in Intelligent Driving Navigation, AR Walking Navigation, Image Engine and other aspects. For Intelligent Driving Navigation, the route page has been revised for more convenient operation and smoother navigation. At the same time, a number of fundamental functions are upgraded so that positioning and voice broadcast can be more accurate. The new intelligent recommended route can let the users avoid traffic jam. For AR walking navigation, Baidu Map integrates walking route, destination coordinates and reality. It also introduces a new 3D cartoon image of "Tutu" , replacing the compass to help the user to find the destination. Besides, Image Engine is also equipped with a new generation of processing technology with more rapid loading and smoother operation.

AI is reflected in three main aspects:

1. Traffic forecast and route planning.

2. Data processing.

3. Big data processing

It is said that Baidu Map will provide the underlying support for intelligent driving business groups in that intelligent cars pay more attention to the production and collection of high precision data acquisition. Data acquisition capabilities vary with vehicles' hardware. Currently, Business divisions of Map and Auto will work together to set up a number of tasks, collecting data according to the needs of regions. And the priority is in big cities.
