Only 20% car reach sales target in the first half year  JAC complete less than 30%

The end of June means that it is time to check the stage results and target achievement situation promised at the beginning of the year.

On 11th July, the Chinese Automobile Association released car sales data of the first half year. The overall automobile market has a slowdown, the annual growth is lower than the expected 5%. In this regard, General Secretary Assistant of the Automobile Association Xu Haidong says that traditionally, the second half year is the selling season, and the purchase tax preferential policies will fall at the end of the year, so it is nor hard to complete the production and sales growth of 5% in this year.

Among the main 16 joint venture enterprises, only four brands has completed the sales target; for the main 11 independent brands, only two brands has completed the sales target. Among them, the annual sales target completion of Geely, GAC, SAIC is good, while JAC, Beijing Hyundai make poor performance.

Passenger car has a slowdown

From the specific models of passenger cars, compared with the same period last year, except the SUV models maintain growth, sedan, MPV, cross type passenger car all show a downward trend. In contrast, the sales of commercial vehicles show a growth. But compared to the expectation by Automobile Association at the beginning of this year that the production and sales of new energy car will exceed 700 thousand units , there is a certain distance.

In this regard, Deputy Secretary General of the Automobile Association Xu Yanhua says that by the end of the year it is not too difficult to achieve these goals. 

Large differences in the target completion situation

With car sales data, the completion situation of annual sales targets is also clear.

Among the joint venture brands, Beijing Hyundai has the biggest gap between the completion and target, whose completion rate of is only 25%.

The Japanese brands overall make strong performance, basically half of the brands have achieved the targets.

Among the United States brands, Shanghai GM slightly increases by 3.97%; Chevrolet increases by 7.3%; Buick falls by 2.9%, whose overall completion rate is 44%; Changan Ford falls by 17%, according to the annual target of 1 million units, the completion rate is only 36%.

For the independent brand, although market share is rising, compared to the high growth and high completion rate in last year, the growth has a slowdown in this year.

As a whole, it shows a polarization trend, the top brands confidently raise the annual sales target while the backward brands even do not reach 1/3 of the annual target.

Among them, Geely makes the best performance. The cumulative sales in the first half year are more than 530 thousand units, greatly increasing by 89%. In addition, the cumulative sales of GAC Trumpchi in the first half year also reach 250 thousand units, with an increase of 57%, maintaining a relatively rapid growth momentum.

JAC brand makes a poor performance, the total sales of passenger car are only 11.2 million, showing a decrease of 40.2%. The sales of SUV in the first half year are 67 thousand units, falling by 53.2%, which is the main factors leading to the decline in the passenger car. For the 400 thousand annual sales target, the brand has completed only 28%.
