Bosch Suzhou opens new R&D center, with investment over RMB 330 million

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The new R&D center of Bosch Automotive Products (Suzhou) Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as Bosch Suzhou) was officially put into operation on September 6, according to local media.

Involving a total investment topping RMB 330 million, the 16-storey Suzhou center is one of Bosch's biggest R&D bases, covering an area of 34 thousand square meters. It is expected that the new center will have around 1,500 employees at the end of this year, working on R&D of intelligent traffic and connectivity businesses.

“China has a huge talent pool. We wish our talents in China not only serve the local market, but also make contribute to the global market,” said executive president of Bosch Suzhou in an interview.

Dr. Chen Liming, president of Bosch's automotive chassis control system unit Region China, said Bosch Suzhou has developed a variety of tailored solutions like the compact multifunctional camera to meet the China-specific demands on cost and function. Besides, the company also gathers the technologies and resources from various internal business arms, such as automotive electronic, chassis control system, automotive multimedia and connectivity division, so as to efficiently boost the cross-border cooperation and innovation.

In the future, Bosch Suzhou will further enhance its domestic R&D capabilities, keeping expanding the R&D in such fields as automotive active and passive safety system, driver assistance system, braking and booster system, automotive multimedia, advanced sensor, automation facility as well as IoT (Internet of Things), etc.

In addition, the Suzhou subsidiary is going to provide services covering the whole value chain, including such business links as product definition, design, development, test, validation and manufacturing.
