Subaru appoints new CEO in U.S.

NEW YORK -- Subaru of America has appointed a new CEO effective April 1.

Tomohiko Ikeda will replace Kunio Ishigami, who has held the top U.S. post since June 2004.

Subaru said Ishigami will retire. He has been with parent company Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. for 38 years.

Ikeda has been with Fuji Heavy Industries for 30 years. Previously he was corporate vice president. He worked at Subaru of America from 1988 to 2002 as head of business planning, managing capital assets and coordinating sales and marketing with the parent company.
