Shanghai, September 12 (Gasgoo.com) China's top five best-selling MPV brands in August sold a total of 8,800 units, accounting 67% of the month's total MPV sales in the Chinese market, said xinhuanet.com today, citing the latest data from Chinese Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
The industry data show that in August 2008, the top five best-selling MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) brands were Buick GL8, Jianghuai Refine, Honda Odyssey, Dongfeng (Fengxing) Joyear and Chrysler Grand Voyager. Last month, the five best-selling MPV brands had 8,800 units sold, representing 67% of the total MPV sales of the month in China.
Of the five MPV best-sellers, Chrysler Grand Voyager saw its sales grow rapidly in August from the previous month, bringing itself to China's top five best-selling MPV list for the first time. The specific sales figures of each of the brands will be available later.
In July, China's top five best-selling MPV brands sold about 10,000 units, making up 68% of that month's total MPV sales in the Chinese market. Brilliance Grace was nudged off the fifth place of the top-five list by Chrysler Grand Voyager in August.
