Shanghai, November 11 (Gasgoo.com) China's top ten automakers by sedan sales reached a sales volume of 265,600 units in October, 2008, accounting for 64.84% of the total, the China Association of Automobile Manufactures (CAAM) announced in a data report yesterday.
The top ten sedan makers were FAW-Volkswagen (VW), Shanghai VW, Dongfeng Nissan, FAW Toyota, Shanghai GM, BYD Auto, Guangzhou Honda, Beijing Hyundai, Chery Auto and Geely Auto. Dongfeng Nissan and BYD Auto both saw sales grow over the previous month.
Earlier data by CAAM showed the top ten sedan makers in September were FAW-VW Auto, Shanghai VW, Shanghai GM, Dongfeng Nissan, Guangzhou Honda, FAW Toyota, BYD Auto, Beijing Hyundai, Chery Auto and Geely Auto.
The BYD Auto posted the best sales and entered the top ten automakers for the first time in September, when sedan sales of the ten companies reached 274,000 units, accounting for 65.88% of the total sedan sales.
