By Ally  From:Gasgoo.comDecember 30, 2008

Shanghai, December 30 (Gasgoo.com) China's Ministry of Commerce has decided to carry out an anti-dumping investigation into certain imported iron or steel fasteners from the European Community as of December 29, according to an announcement published on the Ministry's official website.

In accordance with China's relevant regulations on anti-dumping, the Ministry will examine evidences of dumping, injury and their links listed in a petition submitted by Chinese Fasteners Industry Association and check influences of investigated commodities on domestic industry.

Products under investigation include wood screws, self-tapping screws, other screws and bolts with heads. The investigation will last one year but may be prolonged to June 29, 2010 if necessary.

The European Union voted on December 3 to put import tariffs of up to 87 percent on screws and bolts from China. The duties were approved by 14 EU countries and were rejected by 12 others with one abstention and will run for five years starting next year once the decision is officially published.
