Chongqing Changan Automobile Co Ltd said it sold 7,945 vehicles in December, with production at 10,631 units.
In a statement filed with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, the company said it produced 198,802 vehicles and sold 196,565 in 2008.
Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co Ltd, its joint venture with Ford Motor Co, produced 9,528 vehicles in December, with sales of 17,148 units. It produced 200,758 vehicles last year with sales of 204,674 units.
Chongqing Changan Suzuki, its 51 pct-owned joint venture with Suzuki Motor, sold 6,810 vehicles last month on production of 5,386 units. It produced 123,389 vehicles in 2008 with sales of 124,123 units.
Chongqing Changan Automobile, the listed arm of China's fourth-largest automaker Changan Automotive Group, did not provide comparative figures.
