Shanghai, May 27 (Gasgoo.com) Saic Fiat Powertrain Hongyan Co., Ltd. (SFH) launched volume production of diesel engines at its Chongqing facility on May 22, 2009, reported Xinhua on Wednesday.
The new SFH factory is located in the Huang Mao Ping economic development district in Chongqing municipality, covering a land area of around 270,000 square meters.
The company expects to reach a throughput of 200,000 diesel engines annually, of which 100,000 are designated for export.
SFH was founded by SAIC-IVECO Commercial Vehicle Investing Co., Ltd. (SAIC-IVECO), Fiat Powertrain Technologies (FPT), and Chongqing Heavy Vehicle Group (CHVG) in June 2007. It manufactures 3.9L to 8.7L diesel engines for light and heavy commercial vehicles, the company said in its official website.
