Chery Alado Automobile Sdn Bhd [in Malaysia] recently launched its new A520 Sedan which is designed for young families and executives.
"We decided to launch a car to celebrate the close economic ties between Malaysia and China," said Chery Alado Automobile CEO Meng Tao at the launch.
Also present was Chery Alado chairman Tan Sri Nik Ismail Mohamed and director Zakaria Sharif.
"We hope to establish Malaysia as the centre of A520 distribution," said Meng Tao.
The car offers a large cargo capacity – 480 litres of space and split folding rear seats.
The A520 has an Alteco 2.0 litre engine which provides good acceleration capacities for those who enjoy speed with a maximum torque of 180Nm at 4,300rpm.
The engine has vibration dampers to minimise vibration.
Safety is also prioritised with an improved brake system and height adjustable pre-tensioner seat belts that instantly tighten around passengers to minimise whiplash and impact from the airbag release.
The A520 is equipped with the Intelligent Serial Cab-bus system that communicates all controls instantly.
The car, which is priced at RM95,888, comes in various hues including Chery White, Nasdaq Silver, Wolfburg Grey and Magic Black.
The company also plans to unveil the Tiggo CKD here later this year.
