Weichai Power Co., Ltd, one of the largest diesel engine manufacturers in China, has signed a cooperation agreement with Germany's Bosch Group and U.S. auto part manufacturer BorgWarner (NYSE:BWA) Inc.
Bosch Group is one of the leading three providers of high pressure common rail systems, having produced 25 million systems so far.
An industrial insider held that Weichai Power intends to control the supply channels of core parts by cooperating with up-stream core part manufacturers. Ideally, the effort will help it secure market share in the common rail system market.
Since China first carried out its China III emission standard a year ago, Weichai Power has produced and sold about 120,000 electronic controlled China III engines, a huge amount in the total market.
