Shanghai, September 30 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co, the automobile production and sales joint venture between Honda Motor Co and Dongfeng Motor Group Co, is preparing for the construction of its second plant in central China by March next year.
Xiao Yusheng, General Manager of Dongfeng Honda's General Affairs Department, said the automaker has already received approval from the local government to build a new facility in Hanyang district in Wuhan province.
The factory is expected to break ground next March after it receives similar approval from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China's top economy regulator.
The plant is due to have a production capacity of 240,000 units per annum (upa) and would be used to manufacture Dongfeng Honda's indigenously developed vehicles in future.
