FAW Toyota Motor Sales Co. Ltd. yesterday unveiled the flagship sedan model, the new-generation Crown, indicating that its two shareholders, China FAW Group and Toyota Motor, will jointly march into China's high-end auto market.
In order to win greater favor of Chinese consumers, the joint-venture carmaker does not directly introduce the 13th-generation Crown into China but achieve a customization based on the country's particular road condition, climate, and customer demand.
Compared with the 13th-generation Crown launched in Japan, the newest product is longer and wider, with a bigger inner space. FAW Toyota Motor Sales is fully filled confidence in the development prospect of this sedan model, and the annual sales volume is targeted for more than 60,000 units in 2010.
The Crown has grown for over 50 years, representing the latest production technologies of Toyota Motor. In 1964, the Japanese automaker exported such a high-end sedan model to China for the first time.
