By George Gao  From:Gasgoo.comJuly 08, 2008

Shanghai, July 8 (Gasgoo.com) Last week, German car-maker BMW AG marked down the prices of its auto parts in China and launched its standardized maintenance services, said xinhuanet.com today. All the BMW dealers in China are expected to follow the unified price guidelines of BMW vehicles maintenance services and auto parts.

The new guidelines have covered 90% of the BMW models sold in China since the brand entered the country. The latest BMW models equipped with the condition-based service (CBS) system and now being sold in the Chinese market can enjoy 12 standard services, and other BMW models not equipped with this system are eligible for 11 of the maintenance services.

"The launch of the standardized maintenance services will provide BMW customers in China with maintenance auto parts and services at transparent and even lower prices," said Shi Kai, president of BMW (China) Trading Co. Ltd. After the prices of the auto parts fro different BMW models are unified, the price of the air filter will decrease by 5%-7% and a fuel filter will get cheaper by up to 48%.

More than 160,000 BMW vehicles had reportedly been sold in China by the end of 2007. To tap further into China's luxury car market, BMW is set to invest more in its Chinese venture BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd., which will build its second plant later this year for making BMW 1 series. The venture's output capacity of BMW 3 series and BMW 5 series cars stood at 30,600 in 2007.
