Shanghai, July 9 (Gasgoo.com) In the first half of 2008, the top 10 best-sellers of China-made sedan brands (ranking 1st-10th) are Santana (Shanghai VW), Jetta (FAW VW), Buick Excelle (Shanghai GM), Toyota Corolla (FAW Toyota), Chery QQ, Toyota Camry (Guangzhou Toyota), Honda Accord (Guangzhou Honda), Hyundai Elantra (Beijing Hyundai), Xiali (Tianjin FAW) and Chevrolet Lova (Shanghai GM), said xinhuanet.com yesterday according to the latest statistics from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
The ten China-made brands sold a total of 838,500 units, representing 31.43% of the sedan sales in the Chinese market during the six-month period.
Also in the period, there were 673,300 Chinese own-brand sedans sold, accounting for 25.25% of the sales from January to June of all China-made sedans, and the top 10 Chinese brands (ranking 1st-10th) are Chery QQ, Xiali, BYD F3, Haima Family, Geely Freedom Cruiser, Chery Qiyun (Flagcloud), Geely Jingang (King Kong), Chery A520, Tianjin FAW Weizhi, and Brilliance Junjie.
The sales of the ten Chinese own-brand models during that period totaled 451,700 units, making up 67.09% of the sales of all Chinese brand sedans in the first six months of 2008.
