Lear Corporation of the United States, the world's leading automotive interior supplier, has set footholds in the East China city of Wuhu in Anhui province, with the operation of three projects started on July 23. Wuhu is home to Chinese carmaker Chery Automobile.
Lear, among the global Top 500 list, produces seats for more than 300 car models worldwide.
It has launched 3 projects involving vehicle seat assembly, foaming production and engineering center in Wuhu, with initial fixed asset investment of US$10 million and 12,000 square meters of rented workshops to supply automotive interiors for the local Chery Automobile and sell partial products back to the United States.
It will supply Chery Automobile with 70,000 sets of seats this year and its annual auto seat output will reach 370,000 sets by 2010.
