By George Gao  From Gasgoo.comNovember 20, 2009

Shanghai, November 20 (Gasgoo.com) Jaguar Land Rover Auto Trade (Shanghai) Co,. Ltd. has decided to recall 704 imported 2010 Jaguar XF sedans in China starting today due to the fuel pipe defect, Xinhua News reported, citing the nation's quality watchdog.

The 704 imported 2010 Jaguar XF sedans sold in the China market were produced between October 22, 2008 and September 24, 2009, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in a statement yesterday.

These vehicles are recalled because the fuel transfer pipe in the fuel tank are too long and may be get kinked, resulting in small flow of fuel and then fuel starvation to the engine, which can cause the engine to stall without warning and may potentially cause a crash, the statement said.

Jaguar said there have been no accidents or injuries related to the defect.

The Jaguar company in Shanghai will tell customers of the affected vehicles to drive to Jaguar's authorized service centers for checking and repairing the defective parts free of charge.
