All-new Geely Emgrand hits market with starting price of RMB 69,800

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Geely Auto announced on March 6th that its all-new Emgrand officially went on sale at prices ranging from RMB 69,800 to RMB 98,800.

According to relevant figures, the annual sales of Geely Emgrand exceeded 264,000 units last year which was the only China’s self-owned–branded model that entered into the top 10 sedan list by sales in this country. Since it hit the market eight years ago, the Emgrand has obtained a cumulative sales volume exceeding 1,400,000 units. To strengthen Geely's advantages in sedan segment, the all-new Emgrand need to sustain the existing merits of Emgrand and make a further upgrading. 

According to Geely Auto, the all-new Emgrand still chooses the ripple-shaped intake grille which is typical for Geely family and installs LED headlights at the front end.

Besides, the separable LED taillights make the new-designed rear end look more unmistakable and elegant. Below the bumper, the rear fog light is used for security warning. 

As to the interior, the all-new Emgrand adopts the new family design language. The new model features a flat leather three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, a bridge-cutoff-shaped soft slush-molding center console as well as a large-sized center control display which delivers a more humanized and futuristic feeling. In center control area, the new model carries the G-NetLink intelligent in-vehicle system, adding such functions as Autonavi Navigation and online music library, which helps to offer a fascinating driving experience. 

To enhance safety, the all-new Emgrand is also equipped with ABS (anti-lock brake system), EBD (electric brake force distribution), ESC (electrical speed controller), HAC (hill-start Assist Control), TCS (traction control system) and other security facilities. Meanwhile, the TPMS (tire pressure monitor system), AQS (air quality system) as well as PM2.5 intelligent air purifier are employed to ensure people’s safety and health.

The all-new Emgrand is powered by 1.5L naturally aspirated DVVT engine which is able to deliver a maximum power output of 80kW and a peak torque of 140N.m. The engine is paired with two transmission variants, 5MT and CVT with combined fuel consumption per 100km of 5.7L and 5.9L respectively. In addition, the new model mounts EPS (electric power steering) to achieve a light running at lower speed and a stable driving at a higher speed, according to Geely Auto.
