Spy shots of SAIC-Volkswagen’s all-new SUV exposed

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- A range of disguised photos of SAIC-Volkswagen's all-new compact SUV model were spied recently. Local media revealed that the new model is likely to be named as Tharu and is expected to be unveiled in 2018.

The new model looks very masculine with bulged engine hood lines strongly resembling the Teramont. Its intake grille features a different design style with that of Volkswagen's family model. Besides, the new model's front bumper styles and fog lights decorations will vary in accordance with the specification changes of the model.

The new model features a quite similar rear end style and waistlines to the Seat Ateca Cupra. The new model may feature the same body size as that of the Skoda Karoq. What's more, it is likely to be a replacement model of the Tiguan Silk Road.

The model's center console adopts Volkswagen's all-new family design style, featuring a very typical-VW button layout and a center console with piano-like coating. Moreover, it also boasts a full LCD instrument panel. The Tharu will not only help SAIC-Volkswagen to enrich the lineup of SUVs, but also marks that SAIC-Volkswagen officially marched into the compact SUV segment.
