Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 6, the world's leading auto parts supplier Faurecia announced that its China-based automotive seating R&D and test center and the seating electromechanical manufacturing base located in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province have been officially completed and put into operation.

Faurecia’s China automotive seating R&D center starts operation

Involving a total of investment up to RMB95 million and covering an area of over 13,000 square meters, the R&D center and the production base are built to improve Faurecia China's R&D and manufacturing abilities in automotive seating and provide more timely and accurate safety data for the cooperative works of development and mass production over relevant technologies.

The 2500-square-meter Wuxi automobile collision lab, as the most important part of the new R&D and test center, is Faurecia's third global car collision lab that boasts the cutting-edge sled crash devices with globally high-level performances in loading, thrust and speed. Besides, the Wuxi-based lab will help the newly-built center achieve most seating dynamic experiments and greatly shorten the cycle for localized R&D.

Covering an area of 6,000 square meters, the new seating electromechanical product manufacturing base is built on the foundation of the Wuxi-based seating component factory that started operation in 2003. It will mainly focus on producing automotive seating electromechanical parts, such as electric backrest and backrest adjuster, and is expected to increase the number of Wuxi's seating assembly lines to 7 from 2.
