Designed by a team from Volkswagen's German headquarters, the Jetta cars are manufactured at FAW Volkswagen's plant in Chengdu. The MQB platform-based VS5, positioned as an A-segment SUV model, will hit the market first in September this year. Launched in 2010, the MQB is Volkswagen's strategy for shared modular design construction of its transverse, front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout automobile and is applied in all car brands operated by the German auto giant.

Apart from the VS5, the other Jetta-branded models will also be manufactured in Volkswagen's globally shared technologies, platform and quality standards.

FAW-Volkswagen also does a lot of preparations to ensure a smooth development of the new car brand. For instance, the automaker has built a multi-functional laboratory for the technology and product introduction. Besides, the joint venture’s automobile proving ground located in Changchun, capital of Jilin Province, will support the vehicle R&D in the testing procedure prior to the mass production.

The car brand's blooming growth cannot be realized without an outstanding marketing group. An independent marketing team with over 200 staff members will be created by FAW-Volkswagen to strive for a favorable market share.
