Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The vehicle you see below is the Lynk & Co 05, a rakish coupe SUV that is scheduled to go on sale in the second half of 2020. Previous reports rumored that the 05 would make its debut in Spain several months ago, but that apparently didn't happen. Thus, the photos released by Lynk & Co for the first time took the covers off the numerically named model.

The Lynk & Co 05 is 4,592mm long, 1,879mm wide and has a height of 1,628mm. Its wheelbase measures 2,734mm. It will compete with the likes of the segment-leading Haval F7, Changan CS75 PLUS and the Honda CR-V.

Like the other Lynk & Co's models, the 05 also rides on the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform developed by Volvo in partnership with the parent company Geely.

Just one look at the front face, its lineage with the Lynk & Co 01 is rapidly evident. Above the grille are Lynk & Co's signature daytime running lights which draw inspiration from aurora. The aggressive essence is characterized by large-sized air-breathers next to the bumper.

Possessing a fastback-typed silhouette coupled with intricate character lines, the Lynk & Co 05 offers a proper driving position, further enhancing the driver's sense of unity with the vehicle. Between the C-pillar and the D-pillar, there is an elaborate design resembling window-shades, providing more dynamic sense.

At the rear end, taillights are embedded with a cluster of horizontally-installed LED lamps rather than vertically-installed crystal lamps for other models. A silver trim stretches across a black panel and taillights. The Lynk &Co 05 packs an exhaust layout with a single pipe on each side.

The new vehicle will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine or a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. The 1.5T engine can pump out 132kW and 265N·m and the 2.0T engine will generate 175kW/350 N·m or 140kW/300 N·m. Pairing the engine may be an 8-speed automatic manual transmission from Aisin, according to the record from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (photo source: Lynk & Co).
