Preview of new models to be launched in 2020 by Changan, GAC Motor, Geely

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Gasgoo hereby compiled the 2020 product launch plan of three major China's indigenous automakers. Changan's focus is evenly balanced between SUVs and sedans, while GAC Motor and Geely Automobile more highlight SUVs.

Changan Automobile

Changan Automobile rolled out several “PLUS” SUV models in 2019, including the CS35 PLUS, the CS55 PLUS and the CS75 PLUS. The first “PLUS” sedan model, the EADO PLUS, is expected to hit the market next year.

The Chongqing-based automaker is said to launch an all-new crossover SUV in 2020. The new model is likely to be named CS65, sitting below the CS85 Coupe.

Besides, three new NEV models—the E-Life, the E-Star and the E-Rock—will be rolled out by Chongqing Changan New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. Of those, the E-Life and the E-Star derive from the EADO EV and the Benben EV. Unveiled at the Auto Guangzhou 2019, the E-Rock will be built on the basis of the CS55 PLUS, and feature a NEDC-rated range of 605km.

GAC Motor

GAC Motor rolled out a number of refreshed models in 2019, such as the 2019 Trumpchi GM6, 2020 GS8 and all-new GA6. Next year, the Guangzhou-based PV maker is going to roll out at least three new models, including the coupe and PHEV versions of the Trumpchi GS4.

Moreover, the all-new Trumpchi GA8 will come with its engine replaced with the same one as that of the GS4 coupe.

Geely Automobile

According to the plan previously exposed by Geely Automobile, three brands—Geely, Lynk & Co and Geometry—will bring new products to the market next year.

As Geely's second BMA (B-segment modular architecture)-based SUV model, the Icon is set to officially go on sale next month. Before that, the limited-run “Milky Way” has already hit the market with a guiding price of RMB132,020.

Geely Auto unveiled its concept sedan model Geely Preface concept car on the Auto Shanghai 2019. This is Geely’s first sedan model built on the CMA (compact modular architecture) platform, and it is also the prototype of the FS11, which represents the overall design of the future FS11 production model.

The Lynk & Co 05 made its debut in Shanghai earlier this month. Based on the CMA platform, the new coupe SUV is powered by a 1.5T three-cylinder engine or a 2.0T four-cylinder engine.

Unlike the 01, 02, 03 and 05 which are all based on the CMA, the Lynk & Co 06 is a BMA-based SUV, larger than that of the Geely Binyue.

The BEV-focused Geometry is ready to launch an all-new SUV model next year. According to the spy shots revealed, the new model has a front face similar to that of the Geometry A, and possesses a silhouette of fastback.
