Hongqi H9 makes debut

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Hongqi, the premium car brand of FAW group, officially unveiled the H9, a new flagship model of the H series, on January 9, 2020.

The Hongqi H9 gets all-new iconic design language for its exterior. Hongqi’s logo, an integral part of the model’s front face, and the waterfall grille give this car luxurious and imposing manner. The car offers a similar two-tone body painting to that of Maybach model, showing off its high-end feature.

At the minimalist rear part, the vertical taillights on two sides and a horizontal chrome-plated light bar connecting them get the design style of the Tian'anmen Rostrum as a whole. The H9 adopts a new design concept called "oriental artistic conception" for its interior. It is adorned with a lot of wood grain, leather and chrome-plated materials, creating an impressive atmosphere. The full LCD (liquid crystal display) instrument clusters and large center console screen lend futuristic sense along with the 12-inch head-up display (HUD) and video-streaming rearview mirror.

Besides, the new model comes with Hongqi’s Smile 1.0 intelligent in-vehicle system and supports L2.5 driver assistance. Its luxurious features include four-seater design and "zero-gravity" seat in the back row. Noise reduction and fragrance system are likewise among them. The H9 is expected to carry 3.0T V6 engine paired with DCT 400 (dual-clutch transmission). The model can sprint from 0 to 100km/h within 8s. In addition, it boasts a rear-drive chassis based on a longitudinal engine and air suspension system.

The marque announced on January 8 its 2019 sales hiked over 200% year on year to more than 100,000 units and it targets 200,000-unit sales in 2020, 400,000 units in 2022, 600,000 units in 2025, and 800,000-1000,000 units in 2030. It plans to roll out 21 new models, covering L, S, H, Q series, 18 of which will be new energy vehicles (photo source: FAW's Hongqi).
