Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 19, Liao Bing, founder and CEO of GAC NIO, a joint venture between GAC Group and the EV startup NIO, unveiled the BOM (bill of materials) of the TOP version of the HYCAN 007, the joint venture's first mass-produced BEV model, which is unprecedented for automobile industry.

According to the BOM, people can be aware of the suppliers and procurement prices of 70 car-building links containing interior, exterior, chassis, car body, battery, electric motor, ECU, intelligent-connected system, and the expenses of R&D, tests, manufacturing and logistics.

Liao said the combined profit margin of GAC-NIO products' hardware will be not higher than 1%. If not, the excess will be entirely returned to users.

The automaker launched in the meantime the all-new in-car intelligent service system “CAN AI OS”, which is designed to make a vehicle a more of a human friendly robot than a cold machine.

According to an official press release, the CAN AI OS is able to offer users proper services based on different scenarios and features the capabilities of deep learning and self-evolvement by analyzing and understanding the cloud-based data.

The CAN AI OS also boasts outstanding active safety functions such as detecting indoor vital signs and reminding drivers to check the rear seats as they exit their vehicles.

GAC NIO said, in the future, the CAN AI OS will be activated and controlled by voice and gestures, and offer more interactive experience like AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality). Besides, the system will supply users with more tailor-made services based on their behaviors, such as proactively recommending contents and automatically mapping out travelling routes.

At the same time, GAC NIO launched the “SUV” ecosystem service membership plan. The “SUV” stands for “Smart”, “Ultra” and “Value” respectively. To be specific, the “Smart” includes such lifetime services as the complete vehicle warranty, the OTA, the unlimited data and roadside assistance; the “Ultra” offers a number of insurance services and free maintenance; the “Value” aims to provide diversified mobility services (Liao Bing, CEO and founder of GAC NIO, photo source: GAC NIO).
