Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Shanghai Hydrogen Propulsion Technology Co., Ltd. (SHPT) and Weishi Energy Technology Co.,Ltd. (Weishi), the leading Chinese fuel cell-related product and technology developers under SAIC Motor and Great Wall Motor, signed on November 11 a frame agreement for the strategic cooperation on the R&D of core parts related to fuel cells.

The collaboration between two parties will help advance the development of China's hydrogen fuel cell industry, and boost the independent R&D and commercialization of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, said SHPT.

Under the agreement, both parties will carry out all-round collaboration on the R&D of the core parts related to fuel cells and hydrogen storage system, the testing of fuel cells, the scale promotion of fuel cell vehicles and relevant technologies as well as the application of technology projects.

SHPT said it will make use of its experience in the R&D of the core technologies related to fuel cell stack and system, its sound industrial deployment and abundant application scenarios for fuel cell vehicles, and co-build a technology team with Weishi to make breakthroughs in the R&D of relevant basic materials and core parts, and monetize those achievements, so as to jointly lower the cost by stepping up the use of locally-produced auto parts in fuel cell system.

Lu Bingbing, general manager of SHPT, said the successful cooperation with Weishi is rather significant to the development of China’s fuel cell vehicle industry. He hoped both parties to share data of evaluation and jointly boost innovation in the R&D of core parts, the development, testing and validation of raw materials, and to make achievements in building standard system.
