Shanghai (Gasgoo)- To expand product portfolio, NIO will launch an all-new SUV, the ES6 within this year. According to the spied shots, the ES6 features NIO's iconic intake grille with split-typed LED headlights.

In addition, positioned as a five-seat pure electric SUV, the model is expected to be officially launched on Dec. 16, the NIO Day. The model's price will be also released during the same day.

Featuring NIO's family X-bar design concept on its front end, the model's daytime running lamps and headlights are separately designed. With chrome trims decorating at the lower part of the front end and featuring a silver fender at the bottom of the bumper, the model looks very masculine.

It also boasts smooth side bodylines stretching from the front end to its rear end. Meanwhile, the side windows are decorated with chrome trims. What's more, its side skirts feature sophisticated lines, mated with large-size wheel rims, helping enhance the model's sportiness. Additionally, the ES 6 will be powered by one electric motor with a NEDC range of 500km, a 40% improvement compared with that of the ES 8.

Temporarily, NIO has built manufacturing bases of battery, electric motor and electronic control in Nanjing, Kunshan and Changshu. Meanwhile, NIO has partnered with JAC in constructing complete vehicle factory in Hefei. Moreover, the trial-produced ES6 has rolled off the production line in Nanjing. Continuing to be manufactured by JAC, NIO's contract manufacturer, the ES6 is expected to start mass produce the ES6 next year.
