Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Geely-owned Swedish premium car brand Volvo Cars saw its China sales in 2018 grew 14.1% year on year to 130,593 units. In 2019, the automaker plans to roll out several new models in China, including the China-made XC40, the imported all-new V60, the mid-cycle refresh XC90 as well as the all-new S60, Volvo Cars revealed in recent days.

China-made Volvo XC40 to hit the market in May

The imported model of the Volvo XC40 compact SUV has been sold on China’s market with prices ranging between RMB321,800 and RMB411,800.

It is said that the locally-produced version will retain the exterior design of the imported model, while its price may be lowered to less than RMB300,000.

All-new Volvo V60 to go on sale in August

The all-new Volvo V60 wagon has made its debut outside China. Based on the same SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) platform as the Volvo XC60, the yet-to-be-sold model adopts Volvo’s latest iconic design language. It measures 4,761mm long, 1,850mm wide and 1,427mm tall with a wheelbase spanning 2,872mm, which is 126mm and 96mm longer than that of the existing model in vehicle length and wheelbase.

Mid-cycle refresh Volvo XC90 to hit the market at the end of August

The Volvo XC90, which has been delivered in China for nearly 4 years, will see its mid-cycle refresh model hit China’s market at the end of August.

Reportedly, the new model is rarely changed in exterior and interior compared to the outgoing model, while the difference may be reflected in configurators.

All-new Volvo S60 presale to start in November

The all-new Volvo S60 series is going to entering into China this year. Based on SPA platform as well, it is expected to be produced in Volvo’s plant in Chengdu, aiming to rival such models as the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes-Benz C class.
