Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Tesla started receiving orders of the China-built Model 3 cars from May 31, the U.S.-based EV maker said via its Chinese WeChat official account. The price available for presale is expected to be unveiled at the same time.

At the same time, the EV startup annouced that it would price the China-made Model 3 standard-range upgrade version from RMB328,000.

The EV startup began to hand over the Model 3 cars to Chinese consumers on February 22 of 2019. From the time being, customers in China have been allowed to buy such versions of the Model 3 as the high-performance four-wheel drive, the long-range four-wheel-drive, the long-range rear-wheel-drive and the standard-range upgrade. Of that, the Model 3 standard-range upgrade version, featuring a NEDC-rated range of roughly 460km, is priced from RMB377,000 (including the Autopilot).

On May 23, Tesla announced that it was ready to hold a job fair on May 29 to recruit staff for its Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai.

The job fair was scheduled to recruit employees for stamping, welding, painting and assembly workshops as well as facility maintenance and logistics departments, involving a total of 24 posts.

Tesla Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai is planned to complete the construction of stamping, bodywork, painting and assembly workshops in September 2019, according to an official document released by local ecology and environment authority. Besides, the seat production area, the powertrain workshop and the electric motor workshop are likely to be finished in March next year.
