Changan EV plans to roll out three BEV models
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Changan EV, the electric vehicle unit of Changan Automobile, intends to offer the E-Star, the E-Rock in the first quarter of next year along with the E-life model in the future to enlarge its E series portfolio, according to the official.
The E-Star
The spy shots of the E-Star show the model’s interior and exterior boast fluorescent yellow trims, which looks young and vogue. The LED headlights in the front face and the 10.25-inch dual suspension screen in the center console make the vehicle more futuristic. The company indicates the car will deliver a range of over 300km. And its motor is expected to pump up to 55kw with a peak torque of 170N·m, referring to the powertrain data of the BenBen EV360.
The E-Life
The E-life’s irregularly-shaped headlights and black trims under the intake make it special in design and open in vision. It measures 4,740mm long, 1,820mm wide and 1,515 high with a wheelbase of 2,700mm. The new electric model will carry a motor with a maximum power of 120kw and its NEDC-rated range is supposed to reach 520km in accordance with the Eado EV520.
The E-Rock
The E-Rock—Changan’s all-new battery-only compact SUV—will hit the market on January, 2020. Based on the CS55 Plus, the new model integrates the headlights with front grille which is enclosed. And the length, width, height and wheelbase are 4,515mm, 1,860mm, 1,690mm and 2,650mm respectively. In the surrounded cockpit, the center console tilts to the driver’s side and the blue door handles and edges of the air conditioner’s vents show its NEV identification. The BEV is also equipped with three-spoke flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel and 10.25-inch LCD control screen.
The vehicle’s powertrain will work alongside a motor for a maximum output of 218 horsepower and a lithium battery pack provided by the automaker BYD. The EV company said the new model will sport 605km of NEDC-rated electric range (photo source: Changan EV).
