Gasgoo Munich- Spotlight Automotive Co. has filed a new recall plan (No. S2026M0113V) with the State Administration for Market Regulation. The company is recalling 714 domestically produced electric MINIs immediately, spanning three model lines: the MINI ACEMAN (39 units), MINI JCW (42 units), and MINI COOPER (633 units).

Citing the regulator's notice and cross-checks with D1EV, the vehicles in question suffer from a manufacturing flaw that can compromise the adhesive bond between the interior rearview mirror bracket and the windshield. This can loosen the mirror and obstruct the driver's view; in extreme cases, the mirror may detach entirely, raising the risk of injury to occupants. Spotlight Automotive has commissioned BMW (China) Automotive Trading Ltd. to replace the windshield assembly on affected vehicles to eliminate the safety risk.
Notably, this recall is not an isolated incident. According to Autohome, the campaign represents a dual expansion in both scope and corrective measures over a previous recall of 315 electric MINIs announced on July 24, 2026. Spotlight Automotive is a 50:50 joint venture between Great Wall Motor and BMW Group, marking the automaker's first global EV partnership. The domestic electric MINI models are produced at its plant in Zhangjiagang.
