Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 30, GAC AION celebrated the completion and commencement of operations at its Rapow Intelligent Ecological Electric Drive Plant. At the same time, GAC AION’s Quark Electric Drive technology-powered M25 Super Electric Drive product entered mass production stage.

With a total investment of 2.16 billion yuan and spanning 104,000 square meters, the facility focuses on in-house R&D and industrialization of the IDU electric drive system and electronic control, achieving a fully integrated approach covering R&D, manufacturing, sales, and service. It is projected to produce 400,000 sets of IDU electric drive systems and 100,000 sets of GMC hybrid electromechanical coupling systems annually by 2025.

The inaugural product from the plant, the M25 Super Electric Drive, is set to debut in GAC AION’s Hyper-branded vehicles. Boasting a maximum motor speed of 22,000rpm, an impressive system efficiency of 92.5%, and supporting 900V ultra-high voltage, the M25 sets the bar high with a power density of 12 kW/kg.
The completion of the Rapow Intelligent Ecological Electric Drive Plant signifies GAC AION's comprehensive self-researched and self-produced initiatives in the new energy vehicle technology sector, establishing a strategic layout for an autonomous and controllable industrial chain.
