Gasgoo Munich- On September 2, AISTALAND CEO Liu Jiaming shared technical views on L3 autonomous driving architecture on social media. He revealed that the brand's new mid-to-large smart SUV, the GX7, will feature an L3 architecture from launch. Pre-sales for the vehicle officially open on September 4.
Liu stated that the next generation of smart electric vehicles is not merely a simple addition of a car body and intelligent technology, but requires deep integration from the product definition stage. The L3 autonomous driving architecture represents the clearest generational boundary on this path. Given the differing underlying logic, L3 demands far higher system reliability than L2. The AISTALAND GT7 and GX7 have established a full-link redundancy architecture across eight core systems: power supply, computing power, perception, positioning, communication, steering, braking, and interaction. While one system operates, a second monitors in real time; if a single component malfunctions, the system can still execute a safe pull-over.
Liu noted that this redundancy isn't meaningful only when high-level functions are unlocked; during daily commutes, it works silently to provide longer perception range and more composed braking. Addressing the national standards timeline scheduled for implementation in July 2027, he set a clear goal: ensuring this architecture remains relevant for five years.
As a strategic model deeply co-developed by GAC Group and Huawei Qiankun, the AISTALAND GX7 is positioned as a "spacious five-seat smart versatile SUV." Its body dimensions measure 5,099 mm × 2,006 mm × 1,750 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,070 mm. The new model comes standard across the lineup with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 intelligent driving system. It is equipped with one 896-line dual-optical-path, image-grade LiDAR and three blind-spot LiDARs, totaling 38 smart sensors throughout the vehicle.

In terms of the cockpit, the GX7 is the first model to feature the HarmonySpace 6, paired with a 20-second one-touch seat-to-bed function. Power comes from a 1.5T super range-extender system combined with a three-motor layout, delivering a combined output of 550 kW. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in the 3-second range, with a comprehensive range exceeding 1,500 km.
AISTALAND Auto was jointly launched by GAC Group and Huawei in September 2025, positioning itself as a high-end smart new energy vehicle brand.
