The model has cleared regulatory filings with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Documents show it will be offered in two lengths—5,263 mm and 5,302 mm—with a width of 1,999 mm and a height ranging from 1,790 mm to 1,800 mm. The wheelbase spans 3,130 mm, with seating for seven. Curb weight falls between 2,640 kg and 2,970 kg, while gross vehicle weight ranges from 3,245 kg to 3,575 kg. Top speed is listed between 240 km/h and 250 km/h, with tire options including 265/45R21, 255/50R20, and 275/45R20.
Under the hood, the vehicle runs on a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and comes standard with a panoramic roof. Buyers can also choose from a range of accessories—including black front bumper trim, a rear spoiler, and rear bumper decorations—to personalize the look.
Notably, dimensions shift slightly depending on the configuration: selecting air suspension brings the height to 1,790 mm, while adding rear bumper trim extends the length to 5,302 mm. Front and rear overhangs measure 995 mm and 1,177 mm, respectively. As a D-segment flagship, the BYD Great Tang comes standard with rear-wheel steering—a critical feature for maneuvering a vehicle longer than 5.2 meters through city streets and into parking spots. A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor suggests the SUV will be equipped with the "God's Eye" advanced driver-assistance system.
A key highlight is the pure electric version, built on BYD's Super e-Platform. It features a full 1,000-volt architecture, a 10C flash-charge battery, and a charging current of 1,000 amps—capable of a peak charging power of 1,000 kW. This setup significantly boosts charging efficiency to address range anxiety. Beyond the electric variant, the lineup is expected to include a plug-in hybrid option to cater to diverse driving needs.
