Gasgoo Munich- Chenzi Tech recently validated its in-house hollow-shaft brake-by-wire motor, putting it on track for mass production. Having passed performance, environmental adaptability, and durability tests, the motor was successfully integrated with the company’s proprietary IBCU1-B brake system assembly to complete system-level verification. With all metrics meeting design requirements, the motor now has the production foundation needed for the IBCU1-B project.
In brake-by-wire systems, the motor acts as the core actuator, determining response speed, control precision, and reliability. To address technical hurdles posed by hollow rotor structures—such as limited core area, winding constraints, and tight tolerances for inner and outer diameters—Chenzi’s R&D team utilized magnetic circuit topology design, winding layout optimization, and advanced control strategies. By precisely balancing magnetic density between the stator and rotor, the team minimized torque ripple and harmonic effects. This effort has established a comprehensive "forward development" capability spanning structural, electronic, and process design.
For years, hollow-shaft motors were delivered by foreign suppliers as "black boxes" with only external parameters available, constraining the independent evolution of domestic wire-control chassis technology. Now, however, leading competitors have shifted to hollow-shaft designs for their second-generation One-box products. Chenzi Tech, focusing on the wire-control chassis sector, has mastered over 100 core technologies to deliver a full-stack solution.
