Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 14, China Changan Automobile Group and battery giant CATL signed a five-year memorandum in Chongqing to further strengthen their strategic partnership, according to a post on CATL's WeChat account.

The agreement outlines broader cooperation spanning technology deployment, market expansion, business model innovation, overseas development and coordinated brand-building efforts.
Established in 2025 with the State Council approval, China Changan Automobile Group is positioned as a centrally administered automotive conglomerate with operations ranging from vehicle manufacturing and key components to automotive finance and mobility services. The group has made emerging fields such as intelligent automotive robots and flying vehicles central to its long-term strategy, framing them as drivers of China's next wave of industrial productivity.
Over the next five years, the two companies plan to concentrate on frontier areas including battery-swapping mobility solutions, intelligent automotive robotics, flying vehicles and embodied intelligence. By pursuing cross-industry and cross-scenario collaboration, the partnership aims to accelerate real-world applications and commercial pathways for advanced technologies, injecting fresh momentum into the development of China's new-energy vehicle ecosystem.
