Gasgoo Munich- On August 20, FANGCHENGBAO, a sub-brand of BYD, has kicked off nationwide pre-orders for its Formula (dubbed "Fangcheng S and Formula S GT models, with prices ranging from 230,000 to 280,000 yuan. The two new vehicles are set to reveal their interiors for the first time at the 2026 Chengdu Motor Show opening on August 21, with a formal market launch planned for the third quarter of this year.

The Formula S series marks the brand's first sedan lineup, following the off-road "BAO" series and the urban "TAI" series. It is positioned as a versatile sedan designed for diverse scenarios. The lineup debuted at the Auto China in April, where the company unveiled three variants: the Formula S, the Formula SL sedan, and the Formula S GT shooting brake. Pre-orders are now open for the Formula S and the Formula S GT.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's 408th batch of filings, the Formula S measures 5,060 mm long, 1,967 mm wide, and 1,483 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,960 mm. The Formula S GT ranges from 5,025 mm to 5,095 mm in length and 1,458 mm to 1,483 mm in height, while maintaining the same width and wheelbase. Both models offer rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations, feature LFP batteries, and boast a CLTC pure-electric range of up to 900 kilometers. The Formula S GT will also come equipped with BYD's DiSus-M intelligent magnetorheological suspension system.
FormulaBAO delivered 41,213 vehicles in July — a 190.6% surge from a year earlier — bringing its total for the first seven months to 200,687 units. In less than three years since its inception, the brand has sold over 500,000 cars, with an average transaction price exceeding 223,000 yuan. The addition of the Formula S series is expected to broaden the brand's footprint in the sedan segment.
