Expanding local operations in Europe
Beyond the vehicle debut, GAC' s broader push to strengthen its local presence in Europe is a key development at this year' s show.
GAC General Manager Xia Xianqing said Europe is both a key market for the company' s expansion and an important part of its global brand strategy.
After-sales services and brand partnerships
After-sales support is another focus of GAC' s European strategy. GAC CARE+ will launch first in Europe, offering three years of free roadside assistance, an eight-year or 160,000-km vehicle warranty, and an eight-year or 200,000-km battery warranty. GAC said its Rotterdam parts distribution center has achieved a parts order fulfillment rate of more than 95%, with shipments dispatched within an average of 36 hours.
GAC also announced that it had become the official automotive partner of English Premier League club Chelsea FC, adding another channel for raising its brand profile in Europe.
What to watch next
GAC is expanding its European presence beyond vehicle launches to encompass R&D, manufacturing, sales channels and after-sales services. Whether these investments translate into sustained sales and stronger brand recognition remains to be seen as the company competes in Europe' s established automotive market.
