Gasgoo Munich-Great Wall Motor's WEY brand announced on Sept. 7 via Weibo that the Gaoshan family is set to expand. Under the plan, a new PHEV variant will officially launch this September, while an HEV version is scheduled for the fourth quarter. The new models will be sold alongside existing ones, forming a product matrix characterized by "two styles and two positions."

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Batch 410 filing for new products, the WEY Gaoshan 8 Hi4 and Gaoshan 9 have completed registration. The Gaoshan 9 is a six-seat MPV with body dimensions of 5,410mm x 1,960mm x 1,890mm and a wheelbase of 3,275mm. The Gaoshan 8 Hi4 is a hybrid model utilizing a gasoline-electric system without external charging capability; it measures 5,280mm x 1,960mm x 1,900mm, has a 3,145mm wheelbase, and is rated for seven passengers.
In terms of power, the lineup adds a 2.0-liter turbo engine and an HEV configuration. WEY stated that the new variants will be sold simultaneously with the on-sale "Waterfall Grille" models, and that sales, delivery, and service benefits for current models remain unchanged. The current Gaoshan carries a limited-time offer price starting from 265,800 yuan.
The Gaoshan family is WEY's mid-to-large-size new energy MPV line, officially launched on May 13, 2025, with three derivatives: the Gaoshan 7, Gaoshan 8, and Gaoshan 9. The addition of PHEV and HEV versions will further enrich the Gaoshan family's powertrain options, catering to diverse family travel needs.
