Gasgoo Munich- Leapmotor officially unveiled the A05s on July 10, marking the first sedan in its A-series lineup. Positioned as a "smart, agile, premium sedan," the new model draws exterior design inspiration from classic vinyl records and features an exclusive "Pink & Ink" two-tone finish. Notably, it brings high-level autonomous driving hardware to the entry-level pure electric sedan segment for the first time.

Visually, the A05s carries forward the A-series' rounded, family design language. Up front, a closed grille pairs with three-segment LED daytime running lights, while blacked-out B- and C-pillars create a floating roof effect on the sides. Semi-hidden door handles help reduce aerodynamic drag. The standout visual feature is the hood and grille detailing, which borrows texture cues from classic vinyl records. Combined with the officially named "Pink & Ink" two-tone bodywork, the design emphasizes a youthful and personalized identity.

The Leapmotor A05 previously surfaced in a Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) catalog for new energy vehicles eligible for purchase tax exemptions. Filing data reveals the compact EV measures 4,200 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, and 1,560 mm high, with a 2,605 mm wheelbase and a five-door, five-seat layout. Power comes from a choice of 70 kW or 90 kW front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motors, paired with 39.8 kWh or 53 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. These deliver a CLTC range of 405 km and 510 km, respectively.

Intelligence is the car's core selling point. The roof is pre-configured to accommodate a LiDAR module, and select trims can be equipped with a high-level driver assistance system. This gives the A0-class entry-level sedan the potential for city NOA (Navigate on Autopilot), creating a significant competitive edge at its price point.

The A05s launch signals Leapmotor's expansion of its A-series lineup from SUVs into the sedan segment. Earlier speculation suggested the starting price could dip into the 50,000 to 60,000 yuan range. Gasgoo will continue to monitor the vehicle's official launch timing and final pricing.
