Unveiled on May 15, the LUXEED V9 is a joint venture between Huawei and Chery, positioned as a panoramic smart flagship MPV. It comes in four trims—Max, Max+, Ultra, and Ultra+—priced between 389,800 and 519,800 yuan. Measuring 5,359mm by 2,009mm by 1,879mm with a 3,250mm wheelbase, the vehicle fits squarely into the large MPV segment. Power comes from a 1.5-liter range extender, with top trims featuring dual-motor all-wheel drive that hits 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. Notably, rear-wheel steering comes standard across the lineup, tightening the turning radius to just 5.35 meters—a rare feat for a vehicle of this size.
Deliveries kicked off nationwide on June 6. Cao Hui, chairman of Fuyao Group, was among the first to take delivery, joined by a host of tech and lifestyle enthusiasts.
Earlier data from the company shows the V9 racked up over 18,000 firm orders within 21 days of launch. More than 80% of buyers opted for the Ultra trim or higher, pushing the average transaction price to 500,000 yuan—a clear sign that high-end configurations are driving early demand.
Crossing the 10,000-delivery milestone suggests the initial order backlog is now flowing efficiently into customer hands. How well the company sustains this pace remains to be seen.
