Gasgoo Munich- SAIC MG announced on September 1 that firm orders for the MG07 have topped 31,000 units, with official deliveries beginning today. The new mid-size electric sports sedan racked up 10,000 orders in just 1 minute and 57 seconds during its August 21 debut at the Chengdu Auto Show, setting a new record for the brand. During the 24-day pre-sale period, cumulative pre-orders exceeded 59,000 units.

Positioned as an "intelligent pure-blood sports sedan for young people," the MG07 offers both battery-electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains across seven models. The official guide price ranges from 108,900 to 159,900 yuan, but a limited-time subsidy brings it down to 105,900 to 156,900 yuan—slashing the starting price by 20,000 yuan compared to the pre-sale figure. Notably, the PHEV 245 Comfort trim starts at 105,900 yuan after subsidies, while the BEV 845 LiDAR version is priced at 146,900 yuan.
On the powertrain front, the electric version offers two motor configurations—175 kW and 235 kW—hitting 0-100 km/h in as fast as 5.9 seconds. Battery options include SAIC Qingtao's semi-solid-state batteries and CATL's ternary lithium batteries, delivering CLTC ranges of 610 km, 650 km, and 845 km respectively.
Intelligence is a core selling point for the MG07. The LiDAR-equipped variant features the Momenta R7 world-model driving system, paired with a multi-fusion perception setup combining LiDAR, multiple cameras, and millimeter-wave radar. It supports highway NOA navigation, urban NOA, and full-scenario automated parking.
This intelligent driving system, previously reserved for vehicles in the 300,000-yuan bracket, has now been brought down to the 110,000-yuan level. According to SAIC MG's brand division, LiDAR-equipped models accounted for over 95% of pre-orders.
Inside, top-tier trims come with the flagship Qualcomm 8295P cockpit chip and a 15.6-inch 2.5K floating central screen. Across the lineup, mCDC intelligent electromagnetic suspension comes standard, democratizing chassis technology previously found mostly in high-end models.
Additional features include a "queen" zero-gravity passenger seat, full-vehicle ventilation, heating, and massage, a 21-speaker 7.1.4 surround sound system, a 1.33-square-meter EC dimmable panoramic roof, and a 30-liter dual-zone refrigerator. In terms of dimensions, the car measures 4,886 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,485 mm tall, with a 2,825 mm wheelbase, positioning it as a mid-size hatchback sports sedan.
