Gasgoo Munich- NIO recently released its smart driving data report for May 2026. The figures show steady growth in both usage rates and key performance indicators across the brand's lineup.

Total mileage for NIO's smart driving systems hit nearly 200 million km in May — a 13.7% jump from April, keeping overall volume at a high level. The city navigation on pilot feature proved particularly strong, with usage mileage rising for five straight months. A compound growth rate exceeding 20% from January through May, followed by a 12.4% surge in May alone, points to rising user acceptance and stickiness.
On the safety front, intelligent systems — including automatic emergency braking (AEB), general obstacle warning and assistance (GOA), and automatic emergency steering (AES) — helped drivers identify and avoid potential risks more than 330,000 times in May. That averages out to over 10,000 incidents prevented daily.
Smart parking data was equally impressive. In May, NIO's smart parking assistance was used over 9.14 million times, saving drivers roughly 82,000 hours. Notably, remote parking — which operates without anyone inside the vehicle — was used nearly 820,000 times.
NIO also revealed that a new version of its NIO World Model will begin rolling out in June 2026. The update will span the brand's Banyan, Cedar, and Cedar S platforms, as well as the Coconut+ platform under its ONVO marque.
