In terms of market positioning, the New ONVO L60 continues to target the RMB 200,000–300,000 family-oriented intelligent BEV SUV segment. Competition in this segment is gradually shifting from traditional metrics such as driving range, pricing, and interior space toward a more comprehensive evaluation of high-voltage platform technology, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), smart cockpit capabilities, and charging and battery swap ecosystems. The vehicle features a 900V high-voltage architecture, an integrated electric drive system, and full compatibility with the battery swap network, enabling efficient energy replenishment and meeting a wide range of use cases, including daily commuting, family travel, and long-distance driving.

Powertrain and Energy Replenishment: 900V Architecture Combined with an Integrated Electric Drive System

The New ONVO L60 retains its 900V high-voltage electrical architecture and is equipped with an integrated electric drive system, delivering robust performance while optimizing overall vehicle energy efficiency. The high-voltage platform helps reduce current losses, improve electric drive efficiency, and provide a higher level of integration for DC fast charging, high-voltage thermal management, and vehicle electrical/electronic (E/E) architecture. In terms of thermal management, the vehicle adopts an integrated heat pump system that coordinates the temperature requirements of the battery pack, electric drive system, and passenger cabin, reducing energy consumption in low-temperature environments and improving winter driving range.
The New ONVO L60 is available with multiple battery capacity options and is fully compatible with NIO's battery swap ecosystem. Notably, its traction battery suppliers include CATL, FinDreams Battery, and CALB (China Aviation Lithium Battery). This multi-source supply strategy offers significant advantages in securing production capacity, enhancing procurement flexibility, and mitigating supply chain risks. At the same time, it places higher requirements on calibration consistency across different cell chemistries, Battery Management System (BMS) adaptation, and battery swap standardization, making it an important supply chain trend worthy of continued attention.

Intelligent Driving: Shenji Chip and Multi-Sensor Fusion Architecture

The New ONVO L60 introduces LiDAR (available on advanced intelligent driving variants rather than as standard across the lineup) and is powered by NIO's self-developed Shenji NX9031 intelligent driving chip. Combined with high-definition cameras, millimeter-wave radars, and ultrasonic radars, the system adopts a multi-sensor fusion perception architecture capable of supporting Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) for highways, urban assisted driving, and intelligent parking functions.
In terms of active safety, the system integrates Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), and Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), enabling comprehensive support for typical driving scenarios including urban congestion, highway cruising, and nighttime driving. The LiDAR sensor is supplied by Seyond (Innovusion).
From an electrical/electronic architecture perspective, the vehicle adopts a centralized E/E architecture, enabling data integration across the intelligent driving domain, smart cockpit domain, and vehicle control domain to achieve coordinated environmental perception, path planning, and vehicle control while supporting future Over-the-Air (OTA) software upgrades.
The combination of the self-developed Shenji NX9031 computing platform and externally sourced perception hardware represented by the Seyond LiDAR reflects NIO's intelligent driving strategy of developing core computing capabilities in-house while leveraging external suppliers for perception hardware, balancing proprietary technology development with supply chain specialization.

Smart Cockpit: SkyOS Ecosystem and Enhanced Rear-Seat Entertainment

The New ONVO L60's cockpit is built on the SkyOS full-domain operating system and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P cockpit chipset. The vehicle features a large-format central infotainment display, a digital instrument cluster, and a Head-Up Display (HUD), enabling synchronized presentation of navigation, vehicle status, intelligent driving information, and energy consumption data. In addition, a newly introduced 17.3-inch foldable rear entertainment display and an intelligent heating and cooling refrigerator further enhance the rear-seat experience for family-oriented mobility scenarios.
The human-machine interface (HMI) supports multi-device connectivity, multi-user profile management, and scenario-based interaction. Based on individual driver preferences, the system can automatically synchronize seat position, exterior mirror settings, drive mode, and frequently used applications. For family users, predefined scenario modes such as "Commute," "Camping," and "Rest" can be activated with a single command, simultaneously adjusting the climate control system, ambient lighting, audio system, and seat configuration to deliver a personalized and seamless intelligent cockpit experience.

Chassis and Body: Lightweight Design and Aerodynamic Optimization

The New ONVO L60 features a front double-wishbone suspension and a rear five-link independent suspension, complemented by an Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system and intelligent chassis control strategies. The suspension is tuned with a clear emphasis on ride comfort: the front double-wishbone layout delivers enhanced lateral support during cornering, while the rear five-link configuration effectively absorbs road irregularities and improves rear-seat ride quality.
The braking system is supplied by Bosch, while the automotive glazing is provided by Fuyao Glass. The vehicle also incorporates a lightweight body structure and optimized aerodynamic design. With a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.229, the New ONVO L60 achieves improved high-speed energy efficiency and extended driving range.

Supply Chain Insights: Platform Sharing Combined with In-house Development and External Sourcing

Overall, NIO continues to extend its platform technologies to the ONVO brand. Core technologies—including the 900V high-voltage architecture, battery swap ecosystem, SkyOS operating system, and Shenji intelligent driving chipset—are being progressively shared across product lines. The primary advantage of this strategy lies in economies of scale for both R&D and procurement: the sub-brand can leverage the proven technology stack of the parent brand, shortening development cycles, reducing per-vehicle costs, and maintaining differentiated product positioning.
At the same time, the New ONVO L60 continues to collaborate with leading component suppliers across key areas such as traction batteries, electric drive systems, intelligent driving perception hardware, chassis systems, and smart cockpit technologies. Battery suppliers include CATL, FinDreams Battery, and CALB, while Seyond (Innovusion) supplies the LiDAR system, Bosch provides the braking system, and Fuyao Glass supplies the automotive glazing. Together, these partnerships form a hybrid supply model that combines proprietary core technologies with externally sourced, mature components.
