Gasgoo Munich - Volvo took the wraps off its all-new EX60 pure electric mid-size SUV on January 22. Built on the new SPA3 platform, the five-seater is aimed squarely at the luxury family market — and the world's largest electrified segment.

Pre-orders opened across Europe immediately, with U.S. orders slated to begin late spring. Production is set to take place in Sweden, where initial deliveries of the P6 and P10 variants will kick off in the summer. The P12 version will follow.
As for production and sales in China, Gasgoo reached out to Volvo executives, but no definitive timeline has been confirmed yet.
On the technical front, the EX60 is powered by Volvo's in-house HuginCore central computing system. It incorporates cell-to-chassis technology, next-generation proprietary motors, and gigacasting. Together, these innovations boost structural efficiency, reduce weight, and sharpen energy management.
Notably, the EX60 boasts the lowest carbon footprint of any Volvo EV, matching the emissions of the smaller EX30 SUV.

The EX60 offers three powertrain configurations — the P6 rear-wheel drive, P10 all-wheel drive, and P12 all-wheel drive — across seven model variants. The entire line features a drag coefficient of 0.26cd, helping to optimize energy consumption at high speeds.
Range figures vary: the top-tier P12 all-wheel drive version delivers up to 810 kilometers under CLTC conditions, while the P10 all-wheel drive offers 660 kilometers, and the rear-wheel drive model hits 620 kilometers. On charging, the P12 can recover 340 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes when connected to a 400kW ultra-fast charger.

On the smart features front, the EX60 is the first Volvo to integrate Google's AI assistant, Gemini, enabling natural voice interaction. Inside, buyers can opt for a 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system — a first for the brand, featuring independent headrest speakers for all four seats. It also marks the debut of Dolby Atmos-enabled Apple Music, pre-installed across the lineup. The infotainment system runs on Android Automotive OS and leverages partnerships with Qualcomm and Nvidia to ensure snappy responses and future scalability.

Safety remains a core pillar. The vehicle uses a boron-steel reinforced cage body and multi-stage adaptive front seatbelts, while the central computing platform synchronizes environmental perception with protection systems. Over-the-air (OTA) updates will allow for continuous feature upgrades.
Also unveiled is the EX60 Cross Country, which leans harder into versatility. Ground clearance is increased by 20 millimeters, and it features height-adjustable air suspension to improve off-road capability. This variant sports an exclusive exterior design and protective components. It will launch first in Europe with the P10 all-wheel drive setup, offering a range of 640 kilometers.
