Gasgoo Munich- Xiaomi founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun officially unveiled the company's new automotive series, "SkyNomad," on social media on July 8. Released alongside a themed poster defining the name as "Sky, Nomad, a new name about space and life," the announcement garnered significant attention. When asked in the comments section for a release date, Lei Jun replied briefly: "Soon."

The series may carry the Chinese name "Xiaomi Pengcheng." While the company has not officially confirmed the moniker, Gasgoo found that Xiaomi Auto Technology Co. has already registered accounts under that name on WeChat, WeChat Video, and Bilibili, pairing it with the English title SkyNomad. A previously rumored name, "Xuntian," remains unverified.
The lineup's debut model is likely to be a large extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) SUV. Reports indicate the first SUV carries the internal codename "Kunlun N3" and will not use the previously speculated "YU9" label. Scheduled for launch in the second half of 2026, it will compete in the large SUV segment against models such as the Li Auto L9 and AITO M9, targeting consumers seeking spacious, multi-passenger travel.
Looking ahead, Xiaomi plans to expand the family with additional EREV SUVs—potentially the Kunlun 10, 20, and 30—to expand its product lineup. There are also reports of a recreational vehicle with a pop-up roof codenamed "Isle of Man." Positioned above the Kunlun series, this model would target high-end outdoor activities.
Xiaomi Auto has yet to provide details on specifications, pricing, or the exact launch timeline for these models. Further information is expected to be released officially in due course.
